Staying true to the traditions of Tinos

Date

There’s nothing more wonderful than seeing traditions that began years ago, still exist today, in the most pure places. Tinos is considered to be one of the most enchanting islands of the Cyclades. Beautiful sandy beaches,
traditional villages and minimal Cycladic architecture create a unique atmosphere that never fails to captivate the visitors. But as with every special place, there is a particular reason why Tinos stands out. Through the years,
Tinos has managed to stay true to the traditions, to stay pure, and detached from the modern life of other Cycladic islands. It may be because that is where the spiritual heart of Greece beats!

The overall effect of Tinos island is deeply calming and tranquil, perhaps because of its spiritual aura. Tinos is home to Panagia Megalochari church. People from all over Greece visit the church every year, to worship the
miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary. Every summer, on August 15th, in honor of Virgin Mary, there are lots of festivities taking place all over the island.

The traditional villages are known to be the gems of the island. Scattered on mountains all around, the little whitewashed villages keep the tradition of the island alive. You’ll find endless options to wander around the
beautiful squares, taste the local delicacies and escape the heat lazing under the sycamore trees!

When thinking about all those things, all the elements that make Tinos island so special, we couldn’t resist keeping the traditions alive in our homes as well. We designed “Pano Spiti” and “Kato Spiti” with care and love, picking each element to create a harmonious blend of artfulness and tradition. We want to make sure that you have the perfect space to immerse yourself in the true Tinos experience and discover all its glory, little by little, one day at a time!
